Chemito Award of Excellence for 2004 Presented
Constituted in 1998, in the memory of Shri. B.D.Toshniwal, the Chemito National Award of excellence are presented to recognise significant contribution in the areas of Applied Research carried out using an Instrumental Technique (preferably chromatography or spectroscopy)/Applied Research in the field of Chemistry and Life Sciences.
The award carries an Endowment of Rs.20000, a certificate and a citation. Shri B.D.Toshniwal was a pioneer in analytical Instrumentation in India and the founder of Chemito Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Prof. A. G. Samuelson, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was declared winner of the Chemito Award 2004, for excellence in applied research in the field of analytical techniques. Dr. B.D. Kulkarni, Dy. Director & Head, Chemical Engineering & Process Development Division, presided over the function.
The award ceremony was held at Chemical Engineering Hall, National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune on Friday, 15th April, 2005. The ceremony was preceded by technical sessions on Simulated Moving Bed Chromatography, Super Critical Fluid Chromatography and Laser Inducted Breakdown Spectrometer.
